This is where the "Ground Zero Mosque" is located. It is approximately 2.5 blocks away from Ground Zero. It is NOT located AT Ground Zero. It is not located NEXT to Ground Zero. It is located more than 2 blocks away from Ground Zero. And it isn't just a mosque; it is a community center, auditorium, community pool and restaurant.
Around the corner from the proposed mosque is a store that sells pornographic videos. (CITATION) So, we think it is okay to have pornographic videos around the corner from Ground Zero (which by the way is still a friggin hole in the ground almost 10 years after the tragic event), but having a community building that has a mosque, or a "place of worship for Muslims", is wrong. I want to know how far away we should allow a mosque to be built in New York. 5 blocks from Ground Zero? 10? Not even on Manhattan Island? Not in New York state? Or even the country?
Hey, douchebag Tea-partiers. Your hero, Sarah Palin, is one against the building of this mosque. You know who else doesn't want mosques built on their land? Your socialist enemies, the Swiss. So, I guess Sarah Palin is more like a socialist than we thought.

Speaking of things I hate...
Sarah Palin is destroying our country. Here's my reasoning:
She is, apparently to some, a political force in our country. I don't agree, but let's just pretend that she is. WHAT DOES THE WORD "REFUDIATE" MEAN? I'll tell you. NOTHING. It is a combination of the words refute and repudiate. She has combined two words into one; you know, like CHILDREN would do.
If you're looking for the tweet that this is referring to, stop looking because someone apparently told her interns and they replaced the tweet with THIS. And if you're thinking, "Oh, Ian. Give her a break. She didn't know." OKAY. BUT THIS IS A CLIP FROM THE HANNITY SHOW LAST WEEK (check out time stamp 2:30):
She said this last week. It's not like she misspoke and corrected; she used the word again, because she thought it was really a word.
What happened to politicians and speakers that planned what they were going to speak? We make fun of Obama, because he has teleprompters. But he sounds intelligible. People should PLAN what they are going to say, not just "wing it." That is not how you become a memorable speaker. Abe Lincoln, JFK, Martin Luthor King Jr.: these were people who planned their words, spoke and we remembered them.
I'm afraid that my generation will only have stupid quotes from stupid people as our "memorable words" from the leaders of our time.
I'm glad I'm a speech teacher.
